How can it be a heating problem when he said it only runs for a few seconds? Sounds like the fuel jets are dirty and need to be cleaned. If you can take apart the carb and clean it then problem should be fixed. First check primer bulb to see if it is cracked or has a hole in it. This will let air in and stall.
