  1. I wouldn't use it again if I were you apparently somethings truly wrong with it lawnmowers don't just catch on fire if I were you I'd shop around 4 a new one because using that one could be dangerous.

  2. Did just the outside burn from spilled fuel?  Are you sure?  How long did it burn?  If it was just an outside fire, I'd for sure replace the air filter and gas supplyline, clean every port, examine all plastics and then hope the temp wasn't too great to warp the cylinder, melt seals, etc.

When hubby burned ours I did insist he get a new one.  I had no desire replace all the vulnerable parts, clean air ports.  Figured he needed a lesson about being careful when refueling.

  3. get new one thats funny i heard on the news some man shut his lawn mower with a gun cause he couldnt get it started

  4. Had you just finished fueling it up?  Most lawn mower fires are caused by spilled gas and most of them are certainly fixable.  Take a look at all the "soft parts", fuel lines, wiring, intake filter etc.  If they look intact and the fuel system will still hold fuel you can either try it again or if uncomfortable take it to a repair shop for an evaluation.  Certainly don't throw the machine in the trash yet.

  5. AS soon as the fire goes out see if you can crank it back up. you might need a new breather filter one with a flame arrester

  6. Buy a new one. It isn't safe to use it again.

  7. You can just push it know, without the motor running right to the trash pickup area:)  I would never use it again, odds are the wires are burned it may cost more to fix, I would just get another one.

Eileen I heard the same thing and he got arrested for discharging a firearm!

  8. Never. Time for a new one.

  9. What part of it "burst into flames"?  If you spilled gas on the outside of the motor it could have caused this fire but otherwise start looking for a new one.
