  1. They don't like misting.  Check the following:  they must not have any kind of sand or loose substrate in the bottom of their tanks as they get impacted easily.  If you have this, remove immediately and use paper towels.  Then replace with non-adhesive shelf liner or reptile carpet.  Next, what temperature is your under tank heat mat set at?  It needs to be 88-91F.  UTH mats need to be set with a thermometer or dimmerswitch.   Too cold or too hot and the leo won't eat and digest properly.  They need 3 hides...one on the warm side, one on the cool side, and a humid hide to help with shedding.  Food should be a variety of gutloaded insects that have been calcium dusted.  They need bowls of water to drink from, and a small dish of calcium.  Check out this site for more info, and don't forget to have your herp vet check it for parasites!

  2. ok leopard geckos are insectivores and should NEVER be giving meat of any kind. I would take him to a vet. This is a very serious problem. I have had leopard geckos with this problem and i hate to say sometimes there is not much you can do depending on the cause. Sometimes it can be impaction, sometimes it can be a parasites, other times (like mine) it can be a virus. I would read Melissa Kaplan's

Emaciation protocol. Which basically talks about force feeding, soaking, and warming the animal wail it is not eating.

  3. Make sure you've got the right kind of food for her. Leopard geckoes tend to like prime rib, cut into little bits.
