My left eye has been hurting a lot! When I close my left eye it hurts a lot! I tried going to sleep but when I close my left eye it hurts! I put eyedrops but it doesnt go away! I rub my eyes and it still hurts! It feels like there is something atthe top right of the left eye but I dont know how to get it out! If it is an eye lash how can I get it out? My eye is really watery also! By the way I also wear contacts which I keep really clean! I want to know if there is a solution so my eye doesn't hurt as much anymore! Please help!

  1. It sounds like you may have a corneal abrasion. If that's the case there's not a lot you can do about it, but you may need antibiotic drops so that infection doesn't set in and cause permanent damage.

If you have had a cold sore recently (oral herpes) it could also be possible that you have a dendritic ulcer and that needs looking at.

Either way, I think you should see a doctor, who in turn needs to use a special dye to identify the problem.

  2. I am sorry but you are going blind.

  3. As a contact wearer for 15+ years I hope to be of some help.  I have had the same feeling many times before and it was caused by one of two things.

    1.  You have a foreign object in your eye (dirt, eyelash, bug, etc.)

    2.  You have an infection starting.

The first thing I would recommend doing is to flush your eye out.  Make sure contacts etc. are out and then use some no-rub all in one solution for soft contact lenses.  Hold your eye open with one hand and then with the other FLUSH it out, not just one or two drops, but a  nice good steady stream of liquid.  This should knock any debris out of your eye.  Yes it does hurt SOMETIMES to use saline solution, but generally if it burns you have an infection.  An infection will hurt until you go get some sulfuric drops from your doctor (they will require a prescription).

You can also try the homeopathic eye drops for pinkeye that they sell at WalMart, Albertsons etc. but they are never as effective for me as the prescription drops.

    GOOD LUCK!
