My left eye hurts ?

i fell asleep with my contacts in last night by accident, and when i woke up this morning my left eye was all watery and red. i can barely open it, and it hurts really bad. i tried to press a warm cloth to it, but even that hurt. any ideas what it is? :/

Well I hope you removed your contacts by now! I'm thinking maybe you scratched your cornea (but i don't know if that's supposed to hurt). Contacts deprive you eye of oxygen so most likely they have dried up a bit and are crying out for oxygen. I suggest going to the drug store and telling them your problem and asking for some eye drops.
