i noticed that one of my leopard geckos was missing in the aquarium. and i lifted the box house up and found her squished underneath the box! i remembered then that i was in a hurry out of the house and the box was misaligned so i moved it back thinking all the leopard geckos were inside the box but i didnt see the one inside and i put the box on top of her! i feel really bad. the box was a plastic shoe box with dirt inside, all would weigh about a pound or 2. but when i lifted the box she couldnt open her eyes and her bones looked kinda deformed. but she began to move like normal. what do i do to see if everything is alright? and no suggestions about a vet because i got budget problems right now

  1. aww poor thing! i would put her back into the cage and see how she does. Watch her closely and see if she is acting weird or if she isnt eating. Give it a few days. i think she'll be okay. Dont give up hope! :)

  2. well i am sorry what happened but let her be for a while then if something and kind of baby her and then if she is filling and if she is not doing good then search it up on the web oh and it is ok accidents happen well Good Luck

  3. First of all you should split those leos up. Eventually they will fight. Just be forewarned that you may need to invest in another tank.

I don't understand what you mean by a box house. But on the same note as the top contributer above me, a picture is worth a thousand words. The website linked has the full autopsy of the leopard gecko. You don't want this happening to it.

If you can't take it to the vet the most you can do is wait and see.

  4. Did you squash her between the glass bottom (paper, etc. lined) of the tank and the plastic container?  And then you pushed on it, as well?

Yet, recommending a vet is out of the question...

All you can do then is watch her.  If she's acting normally, eating normally, eliminating normally, and her bones all seem to be in place - they you (she actually) lucked out.

Otherwise, unless you have a lil mini Xray machine in your room - she needs a vet!  We won't even talk about how difficult it is to splint a reptile...

There really is nothing else you can do, without knowing if she has broken bones.

As for the dirt in the container, please take a moment and read this:

One picture is worth a thousand words.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help, and I sure hope the lil gal is not truly injured.

  5. Take her to a vet and be a little more careful and fragile with animals of all kinds
