he is molting a lot and hasn't eaten in at least 3 weeks his back seems to be kinda hunched and his legs look strange, he also isn't moving as fast or as much as he used to. He is probably about 9 months old but not really sure. If anyone knows what might be wrong with him or anything we can do to help him please let us know.

  1. I have a leopard gecko as well. What are you feeding it? It could be its diet. What is the temperature he/she lives in? Also what is the aquarium like? Does it have like fine sand, wood chunks...

  2. Sounds like Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) to me. Your gecko should have a dish of pure calcium ready and available at all times. You should also be dusting the insects in calcium powder, and should also be sufficiently gutloaded! If not, you really should have done your research better. MBD can be treated but not necessarily cured. D3 liquid can be orally administered by use of an oral syringe at no more then 0.05ml a day.

In the body, vitamin D3 is responsible for the absorption and secretion of calcium and phosphorus, calcium and phosphorus work within the body to create rigidity in bones, as well as playing other crucial roles within the body. Make sure you properly suppliment your gecko with the calcium it needs, this condition CAN be life threatening if left untreated, it is important you seek veterenary advice to establish how severely he is inflicted.

  3. Has he been getting the vitamin D3 in his calcium that he needs?  "Hunched back and strange legs" could be signs of MBD (Metabolic  Bone Disease).

Has his diet been adequate?  Are you gut loading his insects before feeding?

What kind of shape is his tail in?  Does he have fat reserves?

If you could post a pic, we could make a more educated guess as to what we think might be wrong.

Either way - it sounds like your lil guy is in trouble, and needs to see the vet.

If you don’t alredy know of a qualified exotics/reptile vet in your area, google “Herpetological Society” -or-

http://www.herpvetconnection.com/  for the one closet to you.

I'll post some links below you might want to peek out when you have time, but please note my disclaimer.

Good luck, and I sure hope the lil guy is feeling better soon.

I hope this has been of help.
