Question:

My lepord frog is palm size and i had a firebelly toad the size of a halfdollar will the frog eat the toad?

like i said will the frog eat the toad i went to feed them and my toad is gone we looked every where for it to see if it might have jumped out please help me answer this question

  1. well you'll soon know as fire belly toads are petty toxic and will probably make your other frog ill or maybe even kill it. u should never mix amphibians and you've probably killed both of your pets next time learn about caring for your animals so u dont do moronic things like this again


  2. Yes, sorry to say.  A frog will eat anything that he can physically swallow (and you'd be surprised at that size).  If your toad was half the size of the frog or less, he was probably eaten.  

    A  frog will even strike and bite anything prey sized that moves (even if its really a much larger animal).  They key on motion.  I had a leopard frog and a large newt together in a tank and the frog often struck at the newt's head just because he was there.  Overall, the newt was safe because he was twice the frog's size, but I'm sure he was annoyed.
