i have a 2 month old baby girl and breastfeeding is great, but when my breast milk lets down while feeding her ans sometimes when it letdowns prematurely it hurts, it only last about a minute, feels like little pieces of glass are coming down too. i have a 3 yr son and breastfed him to until he was 15 mos old. and it never ever hurt like this. i mean it hurts more than when your b***s first get engorged.

has anyone had this same experience, oh and it just started doing this like 2-3 weeks ago. what wrong. it hurts so bad i almost want to stop BF.

  1. I hated the feeling of the let down reflex.  For me it felt like a really bad cramp in my boob.

  2. I almost screamed each time my daughter nursed for the first six weeks at least.  My b*****s were really engorged and my daughter had a really hard time nursing because the milk came out so fast.  All of that went away though after a while and now there is no pain and no engorgement.

  3. That can be quite normal in the early weeks.

It does start to ease of and get better as your baby gets a little older.
