My license plate in the front of my car was torn off by debris from the freeway do i need to get another one?

I live in the state of Texas and I noticed some people dont have a license plate in the front of their car is it against the law to not have a license plate in front of the car?how much is it to get one?

  1. I tried to find an answer for lost plate and could only find one for stolen plate. I would think it's about the same. This link has the info for that.

    Basically, you do need to get a new set of plates, but I don't believe the cost is too bad.  : )

Not only do you need to get another one depending on the laws in your state you may need to go to your local police station and report your plate lost or stolen don't wait for a ticket{cause you'll get one} also it protects you from anyone who may find it and decide to put it on a hot car and rob a bank should be a very minimal charge for a lost plate but do yourself a favor get it done right away

  3. You do need to get another.  They will probably issue you a new set, 2 new plates with new numbers and your old  remaining plate will not be valid any longer.  There will be a fee

  4. Yes. Texas requires a front and back plate. You will have to pay a $6.30 fee (or $5.30 in counties with a population of 50,000 or less).
