My license tabs are expired but I have renewed them - what can I do?

I sent my renewal to the state of Michigan but I am still waiting on the new tabs. Meanwhile my old ones expire tomorrow and I'd rather not ride my bike to work Monday since last time I tried that I nearly had a heart attack.

What do I do?

Being that your tags are expired, your best bet would be to ride the vehicle that has the current registration.  If you drive with the expired tags and you are stopped, you will still get ticketed for the expired tags.  Most states give you a 30-day notice about paying your vehicle taxes so that you can have your new registration information before your old registration expires.  This is poor planning on your part.  Looks like you will be riding the bike for a few days until your new registration comes in.

If you have proof that you renewed them along with you, you shouldn't have a problem.  Without that proof, you most likely will get a citation.
