My lifeee! criminal justice major?!? i need help?

Question

im going to my university monday morning to talk to an advisor about changing my major

(i currently have linguistics as my major, no minor, 3 "areas")

my career goal is to become a police officer but i fear the WHAT IF, what if i cant become one for whatever reason and im left w the criminal justice major,

what else can i do?

i would love to do something w law enforcement

can anyone list what careers i can possibly do w a criminal justice major? also id lk to minor in psychology so can anyone please help?

sociology or psychology is what is best to major in. both will prepare you for what you will need or what you will experience on the job. it may also benefit you to minor in criminal justice as you will learn about law enforcement, meet people in law enforcement, and will help you decide if it is really what you want to do. goodluck!

You could work as a probation officer or a pretrial supervision officer, or as a victim's advocate.  Also you could work at the courthouse as a clerk.  A lot of people who don't make it as cops work for the jail as a detention officer.  Or you could go a little further in school and become a lawyer.
