about a week ago my internet was working really slow and i noticed that the lights werent flashing as fast as they normally do. so i unplugged and plugged back in the ethernet and cord that runs to my computer. i noticed that the wires in the tip of the ethernet cord are twisted. could this be causing the slowdown?

  1. yes, probably.

  2. If the wires are twisted to the point of being "pulled" from the connector then yes that could be the problem. I would reset the whole network ....modem, router and PC.  I would also get the updated "firmware" for the router from Linksys, that may help also...... try swapping cable as a first step.

  3. No...twisted wires are normal.

Try resetting the router. Unplug the power cord and plug it back in.

Check your Internet speed here (any download speed below 512 kbps is really bad): http://speedtest.net/

  4. you could buy a booster
