  1. It could be the tomatoes or maybe the oregano, I heard about lots of people who feel a tingling sensation in their mouth when eating pizza with that herb on top (used also for pasta sauce).

  2. I would guess it's either the tomatoes or the cheese. Why don't you experiment: buy each ingredient (tomato, cheese, spice, oil, pasta) and eat each one separately. See which one you get a reaction to.

Food allergies are not uncommon, especially allergies to tomatoes. My grandmother used to itch all over when she ate tomato sauce!! Poor thing...she was Italian and could not get away from them!!

  3. There is certainly a common denominator there.

It may not be the tomatoes, if you can eat tomato soup etc.

I would look at the herbs, oregano?, basil? paprika, or the cheese, parmesan and mozzarella.

Eliminate them out of each dish one by one.Nothing worse especially if you enjoy them.

  4. You very well could be allergic to it and everyone else has given good answers.  The same thing happens to me. My lips and the roof of my mouth swell when I eat any sort of warm, tomato sauce based food.  I don't have any allergies and have always just thought it was the temperature of the food mixed with the acidity of the tomato that causes this simply because if I eat these foods cold it does not affect me.  Usually goes away in 15-30 minutes and never bothers me too much.

  5. You are definitely allergic to something.  I would assume that it was tomatoes, but it could be flour, or a spice that is in the sauce.

  6. Sure sounds like it.  Food allergies that start off mild, like your symptoms can go to severe in a blink of an eye.  All it takes is 1 too many exposures and BAM.  you'd be in keep kimchee if that happened.

    Go see an Allergy Dr!

  7. eat a raw tomato, then try to eat some tomato pasta sauce, then try some tomato paste...if your lips don't swell its not tomato.
