My little bro wants to know how to run faster?

he's 12 years old and needs to train for track(sprints) l8r in the year.

  1. Do some strengthening and conditioning.  Like push-ups, sit-ups, those sorts of things. Along with that to get in shape, start off with endurance to build up the stamina, although a sprinter should run no more then 3 miles, for his age i would say a mile to two miles every other day or how ever he wants to work that out. After acquiring stamina, he needs start off speed. Which is basically just working your muscles and reflexes to work faster and start off faster.


  2. Have him strengthen his whole body especially abs.  Push-ups crunches pull-ups and others excercises are good.  Don't have them lift weights until they are older.  Run 2 long sprints then 4 shorter ones then 6 short ones.  Time them and tell them to beat their previous time.

    Eat healthy also.

  3. try putting some weights in feet tie some weights that will make him run faster..

    because when u take the weights off u will be use to have the weights on and that will make him run faster..

  4. weights on your ankle make you run faster.

    um tell him to work on his stride(length of feet running) and go on the internet to look for track tips and warm-ups.

    that's what i did and i made it to the junior Olympics

  6. hmmm, apart from training i don't know what to suggest, he should look into appropriate training exercises such as possibly the agility figure run, also a good diet will help

    but I'm not an expert on it at all, just trying to help :)
