My little brother dropped his Nintendo DS Lite in a pool, and the screens won't light up?

My little brother dropped his Nintendo DS Lite in a swimming pool and it was in there for a couple seconds. We let it dry out and it turns on but the 2 screens don't. I think he might have shorted the screens by turning the power on with wet LCD's. Should we just see if waiting longer will turn it on or should we take it to a repair center to see if they can fix the screens or put in new ones. Does anyone know how much 2 new screens would cost?

  1. Don't know, checking with Nintendo will be your best bet.

  2. The first thing to do with any electronics that get wet is to turn it off and remove any power sources like batteries.  Then let it sit in a warm (not excessively hot) location until all the water has evaporated.  Then it is a good idea to gently blow warm air over, around and through the device for a few minutes to make sure that ALL water has been removed.  A good way to do this is with a hair dryer set on low heat.

Then put the batteries back in and power up to see if it will work.

This works in many cases as long as you were quick about getting the device turned off and the pwoer source removed.
