I tried the lettuce in water but that did not work, she does not mind showers with the spray bottle but its a little messy, but thats ok, but do you have any ideas for her to bath.

  1. hey there, I have one too, and mine doesn't bathe either, and I had him for 3 years now. He also doesn't drink water, and at first I was freaking out, so I started sitting with him in the morning, and what happens is they drink as soon as they wake up, and very, very little. So don't worry he's fine, as long as you have water in the cage.

  2. I have the exact same problem :(

I think it is a normal occurance, birds seem not to like being whatched eating, bathing or drinking.

  3. I had one budgie that absolutely hated getting wet but liked sand baths and another budgie that thought it was a fish and would hardly ever get out of the bath to dry off!

Your little feathered friend obviously just prefers showers to baths. Maybe if you just leave the bath in there her natural curiousity will take over and she'll eventually just hoe in all by herself

  4. Just give it plently of food and water the bird has very strong instincts and knows how to survive.

Make sure the house is warm enough the cold may keep it out of the water 73+.

  5. My budgies dont bath really. I think Ive seen them have a splash in their water once when it was really hot (I live in Australia). They also hate being sprayed with their lice spray but are better with water. My male LOVES to shower with us. I think its very normal. Also they dont seem to drink much - probably being native Aussie birds they dont need much. Mainly just the little drops on the edge of the water bowl, and they like the drops on freshly washed lettuce and apple
