  1. possible reasons for pooping outside the box:

    1) box is dirty, kitty doesn't want to get his paws soiled and the smell hurts his sensitive nostrils...

change the litter, clean out the  box and surrounding area

2)chaged kitty litter product and kitty doesn't like it

    3) you moved litter box to another location

    4) the kitty is upset with you or someone in your household...is he pooping on someone's stuff or near someone's usual space in housr... this is a clue

    5)is kitty neutered...this too makes a difference

6)is someone or something freightening kitty so he can't get to his box?

7)is kitty sick?  are stools different?  call your vet

    Hope this check list helps:)

  2. Make sure your kitten's litter box is clean and fresh. It might be that your kitten is still learning how to use it and you might not realize it. Try putting the litter box in a location where your cat can have its privacy like a bathroom or in its own room. Tell your cat "no" whenever he/she poops in your kitchen. Maybe your kitten likes the smell of the food? Make sure that you don't shout at your kitten or he/she will get afraid and will not have a very good relationship with you. Just a calm "no" can straiten it up!

  3. sometimes they do this if the are stressed....my cat did the same thing try moving it to place where cat can use it and feel safe, like a corner....but make sure your cat is well aware of where you placed it.Keep putting it back in the litter box and try moving its paw in a digging motion so it gets the idea....i trained 5 kittens after m cat had babies by doing that

  4. Is there something wrong with her litter make sure to check that and if it is  fine jjust train her to go in here litter box just put her in her/him in its litter box every once and a wiel and she/he will get used to it

  5. give it away. its broken

  6. is the litter box dirty?

most cats will find somewhere else to go if the litter box has not been cleared out.

    is he sick?

the number one symptom of a sick cat is going outside of the litter box.

have you moved the litter box recently?

maybe he can't find it or doesn't like where you put it.

has he been adequately litter trained?

if he's a young kitten he may need some extra training to continue going inside the box.

    hope this helps!
