My little sister (she's 11, grade 5) wants to know if you think she has good grades?

Question

Ok if you've seen one of my previous questions you'll notice that I asked what you think of my grades. Now my little sis wants to know what yout think of hers (keep in mind, she's only 11, and I'm 19).

Reading-95. A

Writing-100 A

Spelling-103 A+

Math-85 B

Science-75 C

Social Studies-100 A

She's doing fine, as long as she's giving her best effort.  Since her science and math scores are lower, I'd say she's a more verbal person than technical, math and science tend to do together.  Her spelling is very high, she must be a good reader.  Just have her keep practicing her math skills and she will be fine, math in 5th grade gets a whole lot tougher!

It depends on how bright she is. They might be an amazing achievement and a sign that she's worked really hard - or she might be coasting and being downright lazy in maths and science. Only someone who knows her can possibly say which.

My parents call B's and C's 'slacking'. So I wish I was treated like that for grades. They amke be so perfect and it's not fair that I have hide 80% on worksheets because of this.

Wow, she should be really proud of herself, those grades are wonderful. She may need to pay more attention in science, but everything else is wonderful, even a c is still fine.

The teacher,especially at that age, can have a huge impact on how well a child does, especially considering all kids learn in different way. No one is going to learn as well when they are not interested in the subject.

I wouldnt worry too much, i didnt do very well in primary school science, i use to get c's, when i got into high school I ended up becoming the top student out of 200 for science, different school mind u.

My math skills also went from low marks to in the top 10 for my school. Not to worry. I really believe the most important subject to nail in primary school is english, as you dont get a second chance to learn it all. I know in Oz once you hit high school its all about formulars and you get to use a calculator anyway.

She does have good grades.. All kids has a worse subject but your sister's grade in science isn't all that bad. C is still a C. Maybe she could ask her teacher for an extra credit to boost up her science grade.. Other than that.. her grades are excellent..

Those grades are fine.  usually one or two subjects suffer a little based on the person...I sucked at math and always had a low grade in it, but had high grades in everything else.  It just looks like she has a tough time with science (her math grade is fine).  If she's really concerned about science, maybe she can get a tutor?  If she gets excited about it, her grades will go up (maybe her science teacher just doesn't make it fun?)

Yes she does have good grades I was the same way math and science kinda go hand in hand. I always did bad in math and OK in science, but really well at social studies and writing. She just needs to work a little harder at the two, study a little more and maybe get a tutor to help her in those subjects. I think she has good grades. =)

Not really. She has one B and one C. But then again i probably wouldnt know since im a straight A student. But comparing it with others, i think shes average.

Yea, shes smart. I'm 11 and I get about the same grades except like 80 in science. people say im smart. she does pretty good. a kid in my class gets a f's

Pretty good.  Just need some work in math and science, but I'm not one to judge there.  Those were always my worst grades.

i have 4 A's and 2 C's but they are in History and Science

but her Science teacher relates to mine cause he dont do nothin fun at all u is always talkin about his life and he talks all the time
