He says bad words, screams, and doesn't listen to anyone. I'm always yelling at him, but I don't want him to grow up in that kind of environment. How do u help him? W/O yelling and stop him from saying bad words. SPANKING IS OUT OF THE QUESTION.

  1. He sounds restless.  Maybe, you could try an approach like playing some little game with him that he understands and you make up your mind not beat him in the competition.  It sounds like he needs a little more attention and to have a victory or two at something.  Shooting a smurf basketball at a hoop or a whipple ball hitting contest.  Just  a contest in which he can feel good about his performance.  He may need a little more ego boosting and a lot less shouting which you already recognize as unhealthy for him and probably the whole family.  Good luck and I hope you give him a chance to play some game with you.   In which he has a reasonable chance.

  2. time out?

    nanny 911??

  3. You are right yelling is not the answer, he will respond to consequences though , try playing with him and when he does something you don't like tell him that was offensive and walk away he will soon learn that if he is not nice you won't play.
