  1. Hi,

DON'T GIVE THEM STRING ITS A CHOKING HAZARD!!!!

Lovebirds build their nests out of wood and won't accept a pre built nest. The birds destroy any wooden structure in their cage in order to build a nest.

If i was you i would get some off cuts of wood and then place them in the cage so they can chew it, and so stop chewing their nest box.

  2. You need to get a new nest box and do the following things. if they are peach faced get a box and fill it almsot to the nest box hole/entrance with care-fresh bedding. It is found in hamster area.Peach-faced do not build nests like other birds in wild. Give them plain printer paper, newspaper(if you in the US),palm fronds, and willow. If you have masked lovebirds they need a Rather large box since they do build nests and rather big ones. I am including a web group that is very helpful.
