  2. What color are the foods your lovebirds are eating?  Unless your bird is bleeding into the water or pooping in the water, the only way the water is going to change color is if something else is added to it.  Usually this is bird food that's being dunked in the water dish (birds just love to do this).

Do you have a problem with your water supply (rust or chemicals in the water)?  Are you putting vitamins or some other supplement in the water?  If not, I'm guessing your birds are dunking/dumping food in there.  An obvious choice would be colored pellets.

  3. The water is that color because they probably dropped some fruit pellets in it, CHANGE THE WATER WHEN IT LOOKS GROSS!

  4. did you take it out each day and wash it or did u leave it ther 4 2days? maybe you fed them somthing orange and it came out in their p**p and soiled the water.

i would take it out and clean it throughly

  5. Birds eat, then drink so could be food from the beak in the water.

Have you fed any food colored orange?

If you used water from the tap, then is from your water source.

Use bottled water, don't give contaminated water to a bird to drink or bath in. Fill a clear glass with the water you used and see if it is orange.

Also, birds often will put a toy in the water, could be a wood toy with orange coloring.

Play detective and look around for orange something that could be the cause.

Always scrub food dishes in hot soapy water and rinse real well - daily and never leave food in water dishes, change to clean dish and fresh water, other wise bacteria grows in the water and the bird will get sick.

    * another said female birds have peroids, No, that is not true.

Any bleeding from a birds vent is a serious problem that needs a vet check ASAP.
