  1. Do yourself a favor and cull the mariner, it would make a good Anchor

  2. that's not good news nothing should be leaking out.u need to have it looked at call a marina. they might not even look at it because they don't make tem anymore. i owned one and couldn't even trade it for something else

  3. have the lower pressure tested, get your estamate and trade it for a merc [pressure testing should be cheap]

  4. how would you know it was leaking water?  there is only water in it when it is submerged,

possible you may have gotten water in your lower unit gearbox, and it froze and cracked the housing, thats only way water could be leaking out that i know of.

  5. I think you are trying to say that your lower unit is getting water in it, if not your question makes no sense.

If so then more than likely you have a seal leaking and should get the lower unit resealed.  But your lower unit could be cracked.  The only fix for a cracked lower unit is a new gear housing.  If it needs a new housing then you have to find a dealer who has a used one (good luck)

If it just needs resealed any authorized Mercury dealer can do it.

  6. you have either a crack in the bullet/housing or the seals on the prop shaft and or the drive shaft are leaking. With out the proper tools these repairs should be done at a proper repair shop
