  1. If a popup says you have a virus, it is lying.

They are trying to trick you into clicking the popup and getting virus.

Also they don't have "Special Protection", there are just not that many viruses for "Leopard".

  2. like Mr.pimp says if it a pop up it must be spy ware you can use a program called noadware to scan your pc for free on http://www.freewebs.com/mclilrobert/prod...

  3. yeah, is the thing saying you have a virus in a internet browsing window? (a pop up?)

then it's just a load of c**p, close the window and ignore it.

PS "macs dont get viruses" is an utter load of c**p mac lovers like to sell. don't buy any of it.

  4. Despite what some of the previous people have said, there are no released MacOs X viruses. Again, there are NO released MacOs X viruses. So you can't have one. You probably have your pop up ad blocker turned off in either Safari or Firefox. There are three MacOs X trojans, there is a fake Mac Anti-virus, a fake Mac Poker game, and a fake Mac p**n viewer. To install one of those, you have to go to the website, agree to download the software, agree to install it and put in your password. You cannot get any malicious program for a Mac by just visiting a website. I did tech support for ten years for a school district, I never had a Mac running MacOs X with a virus. Enjoy your MacBook and turn on your pop up ad blocker.

  5. You DO NOT have a virus.

Please read Kahless's answer carefully and believe it.

PC people want you to think  Mac have and do get viruses.  But it simply is Not so.  Not unless you consciously and deliberately do something really stupid.

Which is highly unlikely.  After all, you were smart enough to get a Mac!  right?
