My magnavox big screen tv's colors are misaligned. can this be fixed? and How?

TV turns on, sound ok, tried to adjust using the setup menu-doesn't seem to work. three primary colors are about 1 1/2 inches of of each other.

This is a fairly common problem in projection big screen tvs. (Guessing it's a projection because magnavox doesn't make lcd/plasmas over 32") This is actually caused by your color "guns" being misaligned. Projections have three "guns" that project the three primary colors on to your tv and mix to make different colors. When you see overlapping of these colors, it's a clear sign that they are misaligned. It could havebeen cause by moving it or sometimes it just happens over time. You will have to call a tv repair-tech to do this. Usually costs about $200 to be fixed. Hope this helps.
