  1. What is your major?

  2. There are several reasons.  In life, you often have to do things which are not your favorite parts of the job.  You may love dealing with the public, but on your job, you will have to do the paperwork too.  You may love having s*x with your spouse, but you will have to take care of him/her when s/he is ill.  You may love playing with your kids, but you will have to change their diapers.  If history is a required class, it is part of your degree, so even if it isn't your favorite part, you still need to do it, and do it well.  You send a message to employers if you only focus on the coursework of your major, because they will think they will have a hard time getting you to do the parts of your job you don't find fun.

Secondly, you have to take history because your school considers it important for an educated person to know something about history.  History teaches you an approach to things which will help you in other disciplines as well.

Thirdly, if you do poorly in general ed classes like history, it can limit your opportunities elsewhere.  A poor grade can keep you from awards, scholarships, and the like in your own field.

  3. because it matters. your average depends on it, and of course u wanna look good, not like a slacker. i hate history too, but i'm dealing with it, cuz i have too.

  4. You should also pass the English by hard work because you could use the knowledge. Also, most people work hard in classes like history to earn a high GPA. If you want to keep a low GPA then don't work hard while everyone else advances past you in life.

  5. I was born in the before time, before color tv or cable or internet  (scary).  Do you realize how many times history has been rewritten?  We live in an age of doublespeak and false truths.

Study the right way.  Everybody needs to know History

  6. Employers notice things like that. Also, if you ever have a kid who says the same thing about a subject in high school, you can lead by example.

  7. my college has a list called general education requirements and they are a whole bunch of classes required....i had to take history, science, etc. and i'm a criminal justice major...different schools require different classes
