My male cockatiel laid 4 eggs? Is something wrong with him?

Ok so my male cockatiel laid 4 eggs without a mate? Is this normal or there something wrong with him?

   It is very difficult to tell wether a cockatiel is a boy or girl. Only a blood test will tell for sure. Your bird is obviously a girl and yes females will lay eggs without a male. The eggs won't be fertile. She will lay an egg every other day until she decides she has enough. Leave the eggs with her until she decides to abandon them and then remove them. Remove any object she can rub herself on because rubbing produces eggs and will deplete calcium from her body and give her brittle bones. Always keep a calcium block or cuttle bone available and supplement food with molting or conditioning food. Oh!, I almost forgot to tell you, when petting the bird only pet her head and neck. A full body caress with your hand will stimulate her to want to lay more eggs. If she starts crooning real low stop petting her back and stick to head and neck petting.

It's really really really not a boy. Unless someones trying to trick you and have put the eggs in the cage as a joke. The boys have darker cheeks than the girl. My girl has orange cheeks and she is definitely a girl, the egg thing again.

Your he is a She for certain. The cheeks may darken with age. Females lay eggs without mates all the time. Just make sure she has a good calcium supplement (cuttlebone, crushed up eggshells that have been boiled and dried). crushed oyster shells. When they lay eggs which they do alot they can become calcium defeciant which can be life threatning. Dont worry the eggs are not fertile without a male. NO babies in there unless she mated without you knowiing it.

Its probably a girl

If your positive  its a boy, the eggs will be duds and wont hatch

Hi,

No its a hen men can't lay eggs. And as for the cheek patches then thats totally wrong you can only s*x grey cockatiels in this sort of way. Hens do have cheek patches but they are duller.

nothing is wrong with your cocktail but it sound like your cocktail is a girl cocktail

ok birds can lay egg with out a mate but it wont be fertile this means there will be no baby cocktail but you should leave the egg's in there for a week so she can sit on them ones she see theres nothing to look after then she will leave it if you take it away right now than she will not trust you even if someone eles dose that she will not trust no one

its like if you have a baby boy/girl and your friend takes your kid away from you will you trust him again no right so leave the eggs along until she see theres nothing there

and sin's there no mate than the there cant be no baby's there can be egg's but no babys

birds can lay eggs during mating season, even if they have no mate.  but the eggs won't be fertile.  But as already stated, males can't lay eggs, so he is a she.

yes, the problem is your BOY is a girl.

boys CANT lay eggs.

and in teils males have brighter cheak patches, orange s usually female and bright orange/red is males.
