Question:

My male rat has bite marks near his mouth.

I'm not sure if its from his cage mate or what. Does anyone have any ideas and what should i do about it?

  1. they may have been playin and got a little ruff! he should be fine just as long as it doesnt get infected!

    and ummm,... LAMBZ, she did not say they cage hurt him she said the "cage mate".

  2. Could be mites.  

  3. Sounds like they may have gotten in a little tussle or injured each other during some rough play. Just keep an eye on them and if you notice there are any wounds that are causing either one to bleed you should separate them. Otherwise they should be just fine.

  4. Well, if it's bite marks i'm pretty sure it's not the cage.

    You should keep an eye on them both, and if you notice any 'major' fighting .. you should seperate them into two cages.
