I work at a hotel as a hostess in the hotel restaurant and i started working in the coffee shop. An associate left the hotel and i was asked if i wanted to fill in extra hours doing the hostess position. I took the position and i liked it. When i told the manager that i would like to stay in the restaurant i was given the impression that i would get the position when the manager told me that they would post my coffee shop position to get another associate. After a few weeks i was notified that there is a new hostess and i am to go back to the coffee shop. THe new hostess is a friend of the manager. I was then told that once one of the other hostess is to leave i will be moved back into my position. The manager seems to be s******g people over because she didnt get the promotion she was trying to get. What is it called when a bitter manager throws their power around because they are mad about not getting a promotion? What is it called in HR lingo?

  1. Well, I don't think there is a specific term for that situation, but what comes to mind is an old saying.

(I'm rephrasing so Yahoo will let me post. Should start with "S")

    "p**p rolls downhill"
