He often turns down work so he can leave early...then the rest of us lose out on the chance to make more in commision. Unlike our manager, we need more than minumum wage to survive. Corporate is not concerned about the money. Our department is just an added amennitie to their overall business. Is there anything I can do to change this situation to a profitable one, without changing jobs or stepping on the toes of the current manager?( I have been at this job only a short time and already my manager seems intimadated because I have years of exp.) How can I turn this into a win-win situation?

  1. You could offer to take on some of his responsibilities for the sake of the business' profitability.  Making the business money will surely get you better commissions.  If it's pure laziness, I don't know if that'll work, but if you've got ideas, just let him know and be sincere in the fact that you want to help the business.
