  1. Is she registered?  Is it possible that instead of  typical anglo arab she is actually half standardbred/arab cross, which is a relatively common cross?  Can you get a pedigree on her?  I've seen many standardbred/arab cross breeds coming out of Wisconsin.

  2. may sound crazy but i have seen a quarter horse than could out pace a pacer... lol some horses just can but as the others have said... its probably the arab in her...

  3. As a crossbreed your mare is in no way going to be registered AQHA (quarterhorse).  Pacing is a lateral gait and many breeds can gait.   QH's gait, Standardbreds (obviously) gait,  TWH, MFT, Appaloosas, Spanish Mustangs, KMH, RMH, and so on.

When your mare was broke has nothing to do with her ability to pace.  That is genetic.

  4. Not too unusual.  My full arab mare can pace like nobodies business.  She does not very often because no one ever taight her to stay in her gaits (She was not broke until 11).  Many horses that are not bred to pace are capable of it.  However they typically do not choose the pace as a primary method of travel.  For that they typically have to be trained or bred.
