Your friend is either s******g with you or he suffers from a mental illness like lycanthrope or D.I.D. (Dissociative Identity Disorder) possibly he may be refering to a pagan or neo-pagan (non-Christian) ritual wherein the person assumes the mind-set of an animal (generally wolf or bear). I believe that Anton LeVey founder of The Church Of Satan had something like this in one of his books (not the Satanic Bible) also some Native American tribes had ceremonies that were in the same vein.
