  1. It is showing your Max bid as a $100 dollars, if Someone then bids $80, it will automatically take your bid up to $81 and all the way up to $100, before someone elses bid will top it.

The reserve is a separate thing that the buyer has put on the item, unless the item gets a bid for that amount, he is not obligated to sell it to the highest bidder, the only way to know that amount is when you reach the reserve bid and it will tell you that the reserve has been met. For example if you changed you Max bid to $200 and the reserve bid was $200 it will make your bid $200 and raise it to that amount, if the reserve was $250, it would keep your bid at $71 dollars to someone bids higer than you/

  2. The showing bid will be the $71 bid, unless someone bids against you...then if someone else bids ebay will automaticly raise your bid up to the $100 max that you specified.

  3. it will stay at the least for you but as soon as someone else bids in your case under $100 it will ajust your bid for it ebay is quite usfull by doin that realy
