I've got a 512MB San-disk memory stick pro due.

I use it in my phone, and I had it about half filled with songs from my mac book.

Today I decided to delete all the songs from the memory card, and put some folders on, the make stuff more organized and easier to get at. I plugged my memory card into my mac book, and dragged all the files to the trash. I started to drag some folders full of music into the "music" folder on the memory card, and watched the available space decline. But I stopped when I realized there was only 1.5MB left, and decided to delete all the folders I'd put on, and replace them with just a few select songs.

Despite taking all of the folders off my memory card and dragging them to trash, the available space (1.5MB) did not change.

I cannot fit even one song onto the card now, but I've completely emptied it of all the music I had on previously!

I should have approximately 512MB left, and I have zero.

What's happened??

Thanks

  1. put the card into your pc and formatt it

you should have all your spce now

  2. try the format utility

    http://www.sandisk.com/retail/driverdown...

  3. dragging the the files to the recycle bin doesnt delete them, and if you installed DRM, you may have protected the files, since MAC loves doing the digital rights thing, and will have to access them via a program.

easiest way of working with the files is slip the sans disk into the card reader and work with it from there. I backup my files. Then do a fresh format of the disk, then install the files you want on the disk.

Also, big tip... 2-4gb sans disk are running between 24-39 dollars these days, and an 8gb san diesk I found at one store for only 68 dollars.
