Question:

My memory card adapter doesn't work...?

when i put it in the computer a pop up should show up where you can open the folders but that doesn't pop up..why not? whats wrong with it?

  1. buy another one its pretty cheap ..  


  2. Try other USB ports and try using it on another computer. You may need to install any drivers that would have come with it. If all that doesn't work, it's dead.

  3. In addition to what was suggested, you can try this to force the computer to detect it:

    - Right-click "My Computer" on the desktop and choose Properties

    - Click on the Hardware tab in the window that opens, then on the Device Manager button.

    - You'll see "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" on the tree list that opens. Right-click it and choose "Scan for hardware changes".

    If that doesn't work, then either you need drivers for that adapter (read the documentation for it or search the model name/number on the Internet) or it is, as said before, toast.

  4. The computer can be set to automatically pop that window up - or not.  You can still get to the card by opening My computer, then opening the new "drive" you'll see there.  Or right-click on the "drive", select Properties, go to the Autoplay tab and set it top work the way you want it to.
