My memory card for my camera keeps saying card error?

i have a problem with my memory[sd] card.Everytime i go to look at my pictures in my camera it shows question marks on all the pictures and videos. An di dont know whats wrong with it. And i have a whole bunch of pictures and videos of Boys like girls and metro station and i dont know what to do. I hope they arent all lost... please any help will help [ha]

ur card is broke, happened to me lost everything on the card

First, try to reformat the card within the camare.

If this still won't fix the problem, it means your card is dead.

Try to read it in a pc, not in your camera. Try to read it in a different camera. I had recently a problem with my SD memory. A 2 years old dell laptop won't read it but a vostro 1000 with a month read it perfectly... try different apparatus before you go the format way. Also try some of the recovery software available online (search yahoo for recover files from memory), before you go the format way.

DO NOT FORMAT yet.  Attempt to view and copy the pictures on your computer.  

What happens often is that if you've viewed or made any changes to the pictures on your computer the camera may not be able to "read" them, but they are still there.

Check this first before moving to more drastic options.
