My memory card?

okay, so i have a 2 GB SD memory card that is for my Nikon D40. i can see the pictures in my camera, but when i put it in my HPprinter that includes a card reader, it says "MEMORY CARD ERROR" on the screen. this is the first time that it has ever done this. what do i do? there are still pics on it..i just can't upload them. im getting sooo fustrated idk what to do anymore so i thought maybe one of you guys can help me figure out this problem!

  1. Did you shoot them in Jpeg or Raw? Pict Bridge can't handle Raw files, they have to be in Jpeg.

  2. One more reason so many of us have and use USB card readers.  I just bought an ExpressCard/54 and it downloads image files at over 5 times faster than my USB 2.0 card reader does.

  3. Though I usually recommend the use of a memory card reader, in this case, I suggest you download your photos with the usb cable for your camera.

    If your camera can "see" the pictures, then it should be able to help you move them over to the computer.

    Afterwards, be sure to format the SD card, instead of just erasing it.  That best prepared the card for your next set of photos.

    After you'd downloaded your images, I'd also suggest getting a second SD card.  Currently, 2gb cards are available for under $20.

  4. Sounds like your printer has a software problem. Uninstall the software and reinstall it.
