My mercruiser I outdrive is stuck Partially on/off and won't budge. Any Suggestions?

The drive does need to be in forward, but if that doesn't work you can pry it off with a prybar on each side being careful not to damage the unit or bellhousing. If the drive hasn't been off for a while the shaft could be getting stuck in the drive coupler or gimble bearing

If you are trying to remove  the Mercruise outdrive and it is stuck coming off. The gearshifter  must be in full forward position to remove the outdrive.
