My microwave start button doesn't push in to start...

Question

the microwave start button doesn't always activate the microwave.  i need to roll my finger around and around the button until finally it activates.  it sometimes takes a couple minutes!  it sometimes starts easily, but it isn't always at the same spot on the round button.
