My mitsubishi (wd-65731) 65 inch tv will not turn on? any ideas? please read additional comments.?

The green timer light flashes and the tv turns on, no picture comes up and it just shuts off after about 1 minute. you can hear what sounds like a computer trying to boot up, then it winds down a couple times while the tv is on. then it just shuts off. i dont believe it is the lamp, just wandering if anyone has any ideas what the problem could be. P.S. the warranty went out last month.

Although you did not say so I can intimate that you do not have audio either.  It sounds like you may have a power supply problem.  Often a circuit problem will cause a power supply failure, or the power supply protection relay (in some sets) to shut the set down when a short or current overload is present. .  In any event you will need service on your set.   If the dealer from which you bought the set can supply service call them.  If not call an authorized Mitsubishi service center.    You can find this on the manufacturers web site.  Also you may want to contact the manufacturer or have the dealer do that to see if you can get warranty coverage seeing that it is only a month out of warranty.

if your audio works, the problem is most definitely the lamp.
