My modem is acting up?

i got a virus like 3 months ago and then my modem light broadband link is turning on and off and i got a new computer and the computer told me that a virus wanted to com is is it because the virus or what? what should i do?

The first thing I would is reset modem on the back in between the power cord and the ethernet port. It would be best to hold it in for 30secs and make sure all lights are solid green. As for as the virus, if you have anti-virus on the computer, run a scan and clean it. If you don't have anti-virus, you can run system restore on your computer. For windows XP, you click on start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. For windows vista, click on start>control panel>system>(on left side)advanced system settings>system protection tab>system restore. Now, if you're not sure what system restore does, it goes back to when the computer was working properly and it let you select the date it was working good. This should help you.
