Question:

My mom's birthday is tomorrow, what should I get her?

I feel horrible, school started, so I've been stressed out, and my grandma broke her collar bone, so my mom's been living there, so I haven't seen her in a few weeks, so I kind of forgot.

Today my dad said he wanted to go out there, and give her a birthday party, but I don't have anything for her.

She's 54.

I also don't have a lot of money.

Any suggestions?

  1. Brake out the photo album. Put together some photos to reminisce about. Nothing parents enjoy more than to talk about their mom or dad. Find some photos of her mom when she was young, what did her mom like to do, did she own any horses, cows or chickens? What about uncle Burt or Aunt Esther. I mean you may not have any by that name but you get the idea.

This way your also learning about your family tree.  I never knew it but I learned that one of my Uncles was a member of the Texas Rangers. He wrote a journal called "Now You Hear My Horn."  that sold in the Alamo one time. Matter fact the original is still in there, but under lock and key.

Who knows what you can learn and so much fun to hear and see her laugh.

Hope this helps. Have a Blessed Day.

  2. well i got a real gold necklace for only 15 go to walt-mart they have a shop for jewelry ask for somerthing cheap

  3. Oh, my mom's 54 too!

You could get her some Jewellery, like maybe a bracelet that LOOKS expensive. The point it not to trick your mom into thinking you spent a fortune on her, but the point it that it will look nice on her.

You can make her something homemade. . . maybe if she's coming home soon you can make her favourite dinner (all by yourself), like all the courses, apetizers, dinner, dessert.

Or, you said your dad wanted to throw her a party, but maybe as a present to her you could throw her the party yourself. Like you could get your dad to buy some food and you could invite people. OR, your dad could invite people (family friends and people you may not know) and you could clean the house, you tell your mom that you and your dad arranged a birthday party for you.

I have more suggestions but my dad is yelling at me to get off the computer for a while. BYE.

    :]

  4. If you don't have a lot of money you can do what little kids do and make her "coupons"

You know, 1 coupon for a free backrub, 1 coupon for a free cleaning session, .......stuff like that.

And a card with a meaningful note telling her how much you love her.

    Cheap and meaningful. =)
