If we are going to live there, I want to know about Dual Citizenship that doesn't fall into Pensionado, rentista, or Inversionista.

  1. I am not sure about citizenship but your visa is only good for 90 days.  You can get longer extensions but they are hard to come by.  You can also apply for residency but like most things that involve the government the process can be very slow.  All that aside Costa Rica is a wonderful place to visit and live.

  2. Just because she is going to work there (maybe) does not mean you have to become citizens.  If you WANT to check into citizenship, you need to know that in most nations , this takes a minimum of 7 years.  You will need to contact the embassy or Costa Rica to the U.S. to get information  on applying for a residence visa, then the pathway to citizenship.  Their website is listed below. The website does not go into details about immigration.
