My mom HATES shopping, how can i convince her to go?

like you don't even understand how much she hates it.... all my friends are busy and tomorrow is the only day i can go.. so i think i have her hooked to go but while we're there how can i calm her down and keep her from getting angry and stuff... btw im paying for the stuff im getting so thats not a problem...

we're going to forever 21 and we've been there before and she said she liked it (as oppsed to hollister and a&f) and i think i know what im getting but i only have an hour and she means only an hour. im the kind of person that takes like 3 hours lol.

so i need to stay focused but i wanna keep her content.

PLEASSEEEEE help, she gets really really impatient and unbearable

lol... my daughter could've written this.  She--and my sister, and my aunt--got the shopping gene.  My mother and I, no use for it!

Anyway, speaking as a mother who really has a hard time spending 3 hours in Forever 21, but realizes the occasional need for shopping, you and she will need to work together.

Take the hour for now.  And thank her for it.  Be pleasant, not whiny.  When you thank her, tell her you know how much she hates shopping, and you so appreciate that she will agree to spend time with you this way.  Also, if you tell her that you want her opinion sometimes, and then seem to appreciate the opinions once in a while, that will probably help.  Originally my daughter was very snarky about my opinions, and that just made me want to be there even less.

If you can work up to a day of shopping, offer to take breaks for coffee, a soda, a snack, the bathroom, whatever she needs.  You can alternate stores even... encourage her to look in stores that delight HER sometimes, and go with her.  You may even teach her to like shopping a little bit more.

It's a hard time of year, and this is a long-term project.  Good luck.  One of the reasons I do it, and make the effort, is I remind myself that my girl won't be living with me forever, this is a limited time deal.  I don't know that you could use this, but it should be in the back of her mind somewhere.

stick to the 1 hour, go with a plan of what to buy don't mess around.  If mom doesn't like shopping she doens't like shopping.  I absolutely hate it myself.  when I go, I have a list and a plan and I stick to it and get the heck out of the stores.  If I had a kid that wanted to go shopping I would do what she did.  Here's your allotted time if at the end of that time you buy what is in your hands if you like it or not or we leave with nothing.  Be thankful that she's giving you the hour if she hates shopping that is a long time.

i HATE shopping.

the thing i hate the most is WONDERING for hours and hours and no one buys a thing until they go back to the first store we went into and they get that.

I can feel your moms pain. Forever 21 is really easy place to shop, except kinda messy.

Dont stand around and look for 20 min. being like this shirt or this shirt?

or dont go in and be like "i dont know what to get"

Go in, if you see something you like grab it, try stuff on, if you like it, get it, if you dont put it away. Really, she will get impatient if shes just standing around watching you pick out nothing.

and dont be annoying by asking if this matches this. grab what you see and what you like...also go online tonight and look at stuff you may like so you have an idea of what you want ahead of time..if you know your size--order from online.

Ugh i hate malls!!!!!!! lol
