My mom doesn't like me drinking. She tolerates it BUT?

she gives me c**p for doing it & I know it's b/c my father was an alkie (he died from complications from hepatitis & cirrhosis from drinking 5 a few years ago). I like to have few beers or cocktails on the weekend. I understand where she is coming from but I am not an alcoholic. I know this b/c I can take booze or leave it & don't drink to start my day @ 8am like my dad did. I appreciate her concern but I have made up my OWN mind NOT to turn out like him & I wish she'd trust me. I will be moving out within the next 8 months BACk into my own place . Am I just going to have to put up with her giving me c**p until then?

***I try not to drink around her but she DOES live here & I don't always have a friend's house where I can drink where she is not around although I try to do that when possible**

So, how old are you?  Do you drink and drive?  How will you feel about your own child's drinking.  (I already know how you will answer this, but you have no idea until you get there.)  You will learn a lot between now and then!  And yes, you will probably have to put up with a mother who loves you, until then.

ok but you still don't need alcohol.  sounds to me like you really are an alcoholic since you seem like you MUST drink even when she doesn't like too. think about it.....

YES you will have to tolerate your mothers concern for you until you move out of HER home.
