My mom doesn't think I deserve a new winter coat?

Question

The last time I got a nice, winter coat was in 7th grade.

I'm going into 9th.

The coat that I would really like is around 120 dollars :-/ but I know I will wear it the next four years of high school.

Do I deserve a new jacket?

How can I convince my mom to let me get this coat?

try the old one on and wear really bulcky winter clothes like a hoodie and then try it on and be like this is soo small i cant fit into it

and just a little advice

get a white coat or a black coat thats short

Ok, since you still have a nice coat. Maybe you should find some other coat at a cheaper price that you both agree with. It may work?

JUST BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR. AND DONT GIVE YOUR MUM NO ADDITUDE.

In my experience you just need to do a lot of research. Show that you've looked at a lot of coats, found out what material is best and what is the warmest, and tell her your coat is a good price for what you're getting. If you sound professional--and if you bother her enough--she'll cave.

I have never spent 120 dollars on a coat in my life and I'm 55. I'm sure she can find one for you for about 40. When you pay your own way, then spend what you want on a coat.

Remind her that you're not asking for an iPod or phone, you're asking for a coat to keep you warm. Assure her that it will last long and that it's good value.

Ask your mom if you can sell your old coat on eBay to put towards the new coat.  Then, offer her to do chores around the house in order to pay off the rest of the coat.

P.S. Do not promise things that will never happen.. i.e. 'I'll wear it for the next 4 years'.  Anyone over the age of 18 knows that will not be the case.

well does the old coat still fit?? If it does then now you don't NEED a new one. Secondly the price of the coat you want is really high  maybe you should look to find a less pricey coat then MAYBE your mom will buy it for you...
