My stupid *** mom got Purina Cat Chow for my 11 week old kitten instead of Kitten Chow because it said all ages.. and by that it means any age for any cat instead of buying a different one once they become a senior or if it's an outside cat etc. So is my kitten pretty screwed since my mom doesn't want to take it back because shes stupid and thinks that its still cat/kitten food when its completely different and she wont listen to me..

  1. if it is YOUR kitten.. why is your mom buying the food?

shouldnt you be buying the food yourself??

BOTH these foods are low quality - you are paying for ingredients your killy cannot even digest..

read this link to become an infomed cat owner.. its good info written easy to understand

    http://www.gomestic.com/Pets/What-is-in-...

as a rule kitten food has more fat for brain development, but cat food for 1-2 days wont hurt except maybe some tummy upset... Purina is c**p though...you wil get less p**p if you feed better food!

  2. Cat food won't hurt your kitten.  It is best to feed them kitten food, but a little while on cat food is okay.  Just get kitten food as soon as you can as kittens require nutrients and such in different proportions that they do once they're older.

    Your kitten is not screwed.

  3. ok well my sister works at petco and she said DO NOT FEED THAT TO YOUR KITTEN! Purina Cat Chow is the worst kind of cat food out there! Neutro Complete Care or Max Cat is the best.

  4. It won't make any difference.  Purina is a very poor choice in cat/kitten food to begin with.

Go to: http://www.littlebigacat.com and read Dr. Jean Hovfe's article titled "Choosing a Good Commercial Pet Food".  That will give you guidelines for selecting the best food for your kitten.

  5. First of all, have a little more respect for your parents; if it's that big an issue, go buy it yourself.

Second - it won't hurt the kitten to have Cat Chow for a few meals; but it would be better to get the Kitten Chow as soon as possible.  Yes, Cat Chow is supposed to be suitable for all ages including kittens; but it certainly isn't optimal for kittens.

Better yet, start looking for better brands such as Wellness, Natural Balance, or the new Merrick grain free formulas.

  6. your kitten will be fine on it, as long as next time you get the kitten one.

  7. She will be fine with the cat food. Get her kitten food next time your out, or get some canned food and mix it. She'll be happy with the little treat and you'll feel better too.
