My mom had some pics developed at CVS..?

side they include an index print with all the pics... i thought i would be able to take this into a CVS and have copies of particular photos made.. they are telling me NO i still must provide a cd or negative... well then what is the purpose of the index print?!

  1. The index print is just used to give you a quick easy way to see all the photos you've taken.

    The reason you can't go from an index print to full size photos is a matter of resolution.  the difference between a 1inch wide picture on an index sheet and a 4x5 standard print is 20 times! or 2000%!  


  2. an index print keeps a visual record of all the pictures you took on that roll. If you want pictures made though, negatives are needed.

    the index card, is only a proof of photos that have been processed, basic thumbnails of original photos, from negative or disc, all that could be done from index, would be to scan and reprint same low quality image, you would be better to scan final printed photo to make copy,

    so use camera disk or negative to make copes are preferred requirements at shops,

    ..

  4. The purpose of an index print is to put on the front of your photos when you file them.  If you go looking for a particular photo you don't have to use the Biblical method of seek and ye shall find to retreive your photos.
