  1. Ovarian cysts quite common and harmless unless they are more than 5 cm in diameter. It is not clear why her other ovary was removed and when. The question lack vital data like her age.Any how if it is a true cyst of small size stop worrying. If it is solid mass it need more attention.Waiting for a lab result is always painful.Your mother will be alright.Iam sure your mom will live for a long time.

  2. If the Doctor's catch it in time then there are great operations to get rid of them. Cysts don't always mean cancer. When she gets the results next week she will know more and can get the proper attention then. I can totally understand the you being 17 and needing your mom. I'm 32 and still need mine. Just take it a day at a time and don't stress it will rub off on her and she's under enough stress right now. Just be her daughter and show her love everyday. She needs that.

    Good luck

  3. Cancer on an ovary, they just take out the ovary end of cancer if they catch it early that is all that is needed. Just because she has a cyst does not mean that she has cancer though I have many cyst on my ovaries I have polycystic ovaries (POCS) that means that many cysts grow on my ovaries then they pop ( which hurts real bad) and they go away for a little while and grow back. Try looking up information on webmd.com about cysts. Good luck I hope you both are fine.

  4. Don't freak out...

    Your mom should be fine.

It could be a "fake" cyst per say... It just could be fluid filled... Noncancerous... And if it is cancerous, then she can have a hystorectomy... This just removes everything and she won't be able to have kids... But, it prevents cancer..

Good luck to you and your mom... It is a rough journey... I know...

  5. I had this scare as well when I was only 16 years old. The truth is lots of woman have cyst in their body but it's the developing ones or "growing ones" you  have to watch out for. I know cyst's can easily be removed, even if cancerous. Try to just be there for your Mom and be her "nurse". Her seeing you upset will only make her upset. Be strong hunny. Your mom is in my prayers :)
