My mom has a taurus se 1999 that i want.

My mom has that car. It's in a good condition, but she claims the sterrings bad but I haven't seen the problem yet. I'll get my license next summer, and I'm trying to coax her to let me buy it from her, so she can get a new car. I think it's fine for a teen, but my mom said it's junk (I really don't see what's wrong with it). If she caved in, what would be a good price for her to sell it to me?

Test drive it. Even if you don't really know that much about cars in the first place, it should be pretty evident if there are any major problems like your mom claims. Not knowing what features or packages that the car has, I can't really give you a good price quote. Check kbb.com for a good price range. Of course, your mom should sell it to you for less because you are her child and she will still have access to it (I assume).
